Closed doors often open a window. One such window opened for PayTrace software developer Rupa Modha, normally a classroom volunteer, that option wasn’t available during the COVID-19 pandemic in the final months of 2020 and spring of 2021. She was wondering what volunteering she might be able to do and noticed that her Hindu Temple & Culture Center needed help. The Temple was looking for someone to assist with their website, setting up events with an RSVP timeline and doing their email marketing.
“Being in the software engineering field I figured I could help maintain the website,” she said.
Modha has been assisting them ever since, receiving content, formatting it and uploading to the website. There are a few perks, too, like making the announcement for the new The Hindu Temple & Cultural Center first physical location this past August.
“This is a very big milestone for the Hindu community to have their own community worship center for people to meet and worship. I’m happy to be a part of that,” she said.
The temple is open on Sunday from 10 am-12 pm. For more information take a look at the events page, https://www.shtcc.org/events.
