Preserving the planet for future generations

Preserving the planet for future generations

Sometimes, community service means working indoors. Some projects, however, mean getting your hands dirty.

PayTracers helped The Lands Council several times throughout the year, lending a hand to complete some important projects. One specific PayTrace project included planting trees and preserving them for future generations. To put it simply, it involved a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.

“I wasn’t able to move my arms, neck and shoulders after volunteering to water the trees,” Rhonda M. recalled.

Four PayTracers helped plant and water seedlings along Hangman Creek near Spokane, Wash. in the middle of summer. Trees during this time of the year were in desperate need of water to survive, requiring volunteers to gather water from the creek, carry buckets up a hillside, and pour them on top of the young trees. Everyone remembers feeling fatigued but fulfilled at the end of the event.

PayTracers’ presence in the community is becoming well-known, with The Lands Council and beyond.

“Every time I’ve volunteered, whether with the Lands Council or not, everyone involved is very impressed with PayTrace’s commitment to volunteering,” said Jason P.

For PayTracers involved in The Lands Council volunteering projects, lending a hand held a deeper meaning and a connection to future generations.

“Being environmentally-friendly is becoming more and more important,” said John Q. “It’s my responsibility to be part of the effort to preserve the environment for my children.”

Rhonda summed it up, saying, It can be really hard work, but it’s well worth it!”
